Swedish company Aroma acquires local competitor Dals Konfektyr
The traditional, Skarpnack-based confectionery company Aroma AB has acquired Bengtsfors-based Dals Konfektyr AB for an undisclosed sum. Aroma has been making candy since 1921, and Dals Konfektyr was founded in 1946.
With the acquisition, Aroma will become Sweden's third-largest manufacturer of confectionery products with a turnover of SEK 250 m (€ 23.5 m). Employee numbers will increase to around 100. The Aroma products range from chocolate and coated nuts to jellies. Dals Konfektyr is a specialist for products such as chocolate, foam, toffee crisp and jellies under the brand name "Dals". The most popular products are foam banana with and without chocolate as well as the choco covered bear; the best seller is by far Dals Gräddkola, a chocolate covered toffee.
