This is a very special occasion, even for a family-owned company steeped in tradition like Schumacher Packaging. The Schwarzenberg plant will soon be celebrating its 150th anniversary. The family-owned company has invited its customers, partners and suppliers, but also representatives from politics, public authorities and the financial sector, to celebrate the anniversary with them on 21st September.
The cardboard and packaging factory in Schwarzenberg has been part of the Schumacher Packaging Group, with about 3000 employees one of the largest owner-managed manufacturers of packaging solutions made from corrugated and solid board, since 2008. The Schwarzenberg plant with about 195 employees as of yet has always specialised in the production of solid board. The site has continued its impressive story of success under the management of the Schumacher family: Innovation and sustainable growth are leading the way into the future. During the last financial year, the Schwarzenberg plant generated external sales of just under EUR 32 m – an increase of around 40 % compared to 2008.
As part of its anniversary celebrations, Schumacher Packaging is offering all its customers and partners the exciting opportunity to take a look behind the scenes: Tours of the plant not only allow visitors to marvel at the state-of-the-art production process, they also reveal exciting insights into numerous investments in environmental protection and the conservation of resources. All in all, Schumacher Packaging has invested nearly EUR 30 m in the Schwarzenberg plant since 2009. One of the latest investments: last year, Schwarzenberg purchased a new cutting and fitting section for around EUR 1.5 m.
