Sino-Pacific Trading (Thailand) acquires Steenland Chocolate

The import and distribution company Sino-Pacific Trading (Thailand) Co. Ltd. has acquired Gouda, Netherlands-based maunfacturer Steenland Chocolate from Halloren International Holding.

Established in 1970, Sino-Pacific Trading stands today as one of Thailand‘s biggest importers of food products, especially confectionery. The portfolio includes some well-known brands, including Lindt, Ferrero, Hershey, Storck, Ritter Sport, Haribo, Ricola, Bahlsen, and Loacker. Besides, the family-run company is a major customer of Steenland and has bought chocolate coins and other chocolate articles from Steenland for over three decades. Distribution in Germany is still being handled by Stereo Holland Gebäck, which has a track record in marketing Steenland‘s chocolate coins. Stereo Holland Gebäck owner Dr Karel Koster still sees growth potential.

For the Halloren group of companies, the loss of Steenland has spelled an end to the course of expansion. Delitzscher Schoko- ladenfabrik and the Beligan company Bouchard Daskalides NV are already sold to Magrath Holdings Sarl in Luxembourg, holding company of the Halloren majority shareholders Charlie Investors.
