Katjes International increases revenues and operating profit

Katjes International GmbH & Co. KG, an associated company of the Katjes group in Emmerich, Germany, increased the group revenue in 2016 by 6.9% up to € 224.5 m. The consolidated operating result increased by 12.7% up to € 12.4 m.
For the current fiscal year the corporation is striving to achieve consolidated sales revenues of between € 230 m and € 240 m and an operating consolidated result of some € 16 m. According to the company statement, the primary driving force behind the growth was the positive operating performance of the subsidiary companies, in particular Piasten, along with the revenues from the full consolidation of the Dutch subsidiary Festivaldi which was conducted in early 2016.

Growth also resulted from the sale of Vicks cough drops from Procter & Gamble by the subsidiary company Katjes International in selected countries in Western Europe. Katjes Deutschland and Procter & Gamble had concluded a licensing agreement in late 2015 regarding the sale and distribution of the brand known in Germany as Wick and elsewhere as Vicks.
