Mars Inc. to invest USD 900 million in U.S. supply chain

Mars Inc., a global company producing pet care, confectionery, chocolate, food and other products, is investing USD 900 m in its American supply chain during 2017, the company announced.
 

The move will add “many new American jobs” and “allow for more Mars products to be made in local communities” in the United States, the company said in a press release. Mars recently invested USD 1 bnto boost its domestic manufacturing capabilities. In 2016, the company invested - among others - USD 100 m in the production of M&M’s Caramel in Topeka, KS, and USD 50 m in an expansion of Wrigley’s Yorkville, IL plant to add Skittles production. The company said it has created over 1,000 jobs in America over the past five years.
