Merger of WCFO and ICCFO: around 750,000 cocoa farmers are members
The two big cocoa farmer organizations World Cocoa Farmers Organization (WCFO) and The International CoCoa Farmers Organization (ICCFO) have merged.
The new organziation named WCFO has around 750,000 members. The executive secretary Sako Warren told media, the new umbrella organization will be run under the name of WFCO. Warren also claimed industry support for smallholders. Smallholder cocoa famers still produce 95% of the world´s cocoa.
