ISM 2016 provides the backdrop for new products made in France

France is the partner country for ISM‘s 2016 issue, with sponsorship coming from the French ministry of agricultures and Alliance 7, a league formed by nine professional associations of France‘s food industry.
In Cologne, 100 French manufacturers overall will be showcasing their confectionery products, 81 of which gathered under the roof of the 1,070 m2 joint stand ”Pavillon France”. This means that the stand is 20% bigger than in 2015 in terms of the number of exhibitors. According to Alliance 7, exhibitors will bring the latest French confectionery trends to the trade show: pocket-size packagings, do-it-yourself products, breakfast biscuits, and individually wrapped small cakes.

Whether it‘s alternative flavours, inventive wrappings or new product lines that take cues from the latest consumer trends at ISM in Cologne, importers and distributors will be treated to a multitude of high-quality French-made confectionery products that, however, remain firmly rooted in the country‘s culinary pedigree. Along these lines, France‘s confectionery sector knows more than 80 biscuit and cake varieties, 600 regional comfit specialities, a host of chocolate products, and not least a great variety of different honey types. No less than 13 innovations made in France will be presented in the display cases of ISM‘s high-quality special show ”New Product Showcase” (to be set up on the boulevard connecting halls 4/5 and 10).

Initiated at the behest of Alliance 7, traders and importers can look forward to a number of both informative and fun programme items awaiting at the ”Pavillon France” joint stand in hall 4.2, F 40. Here, visitors can see how the traditional Calissons d‘Aix en Provence are fabricated. Made of almonds, sugar and crystallised fruits, this speciality ranks among the most ancient of the Provence‘s confectioneries. The Bourgogne region will be demonstrating the production of honey, while the chocolatiers have prepared a lecture titled ”from cocoa bean to tasting”.
