French Cémoi Group launches initiative “Transparence Cacao”

Cémoi is committed to managing every step of the chocolate production process, from the planters to the consumers, bringing them fully traceable chocolate products of optimal quality. In the three years between 2015 and 2017, the family group will invest € 20 m so that all the 145,000 tonnes of cocoa beans it uses every year are covered by the initiative. To deliver the programme, Cémoi will set out to each of the 60,000 planters that supply its cocoa, in order to set an action plan for each cocoa cooperative.

It will improve the standard of living for producers and monitor every stage of the production process with specific quality indicators, supervised by independent bodies. And Cémoi can count on solid foundations. The Group is already present in the producer regions – Africa and South America – with special support programs in place for producers in Ivory Coast in particular.
