Mederer to sell factory in Boizenburg to The European Candy Group
In the wake of its successful reorganisation measures, the Mederer Group, Fürth, and its subsidiary Trolli GmbH are continuing to streamline and concentrate the group‘s business locations.
Company statements declare that this policy is behind plans for the group to sell one of its two production facilities in Germany‘s Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region. The factory in the city of Boizenburg is to be purchased by the Dutch private label manufacturer, The European Candy Group (TECG).
The Mederer Group has production and distribution facilities in Germany, Spain, China and the USA and a combined workforce of 1,715 employees. TECG acquired Continental Candy Industries BV with its Dutch factories in Drachten and Hoorn back in 2013. In 2014 TECG purchased the liquorice manufacturer Kraepelien & Holm. TECG developed into an acclaimed private label confectionery manufacturer with a business focus on Northwestern Europe.
