Mondelez International to take majority stake in Kinh Do Corp.‘s snack unit

Mondelez International, Inc. has announced that it will acquire an 80% stake in Kinh Do Corporation‘s (KDC) category-leading snacks busi­ness in Vietnam for USD 370 m, subject to the approval of KDC‘s shareholders. The investment in ­Vietnam's fast-moving consumer goods industry will leverage KDC‘s manufacturing capabilities, comprehensive distribution network and some of the best Vietnamese talents in the ­industry, Mondelez said.

KDC is Vietnam‘s leading confectionery company with a diversified portfolio of leading brands. It has built a market leading presence in a wide range of confectionery products, cakes, buns, moon cakes, cookies and ice cream. As part of its Food & Flavor strategy, Kinh Do Corporation aims to continue to be a market leading food company.
