Mondelez to build chocolate, biscuits factory in Russia

Mondelez International Inc. has announced to build a chocolate and biscuits factory in Russia, in the Novosibirsk region. The snack group plans to invest € 80 m in the plant, adding enough capacity to produce 50,000 tons of snacks annually, Michael Mitchell, Senior Director, Corporate External Communications, said in a statement. The factory, which will be Mondelez’s most advanced facility in Russia, is expected to create 180 jobs.


The new plant will produce Jubilee, TUC and Barni biscuits, as well as Milka, Alpen and Vozdushnyy chocolate. Mondelez said, construction will begin this summer and will be completed by the end of 2015. LLC Mondelez-Rus, the Russian unit of Mondelez International, has been operating on the Russian market for 19 years and owns five plants in the Vladimir, Leningrad and Novgorod regions.
