Südzucker`s consolidated group revenues rose to € 6.046 bn (previous year: € 5.244 bn) in the first nine months of the current 2012/13 fiscal year (March 1 to November 30, 2012). All segments contributed to this growth. Consolidated group operating profit rose to € 816 m (previous year: € 586 m) during the same period; although profit remained at a high level in the third quarter, profit growth was significantly weaker as expected. According to the company, Südzucker continues to expect consolidated group revenues to increase to about € 7.5 bn (previous year: € 7.0 bn) for fiscal 2012/13 overall (March 1, 2012 to February 28, 2013), supported by all segments.
Südzucker still expects operating profit to rise to over € 900 m (previous year: € 751 m), most of which will come from the sugar segment. The special product segment's operating profit will be lower, but the fruit segment's operating profit is expected to improve. The CropEnergies segment's operating profit is expected to improve sharply, to over € 80 m (previous year: € 53 m).
