Mars US expands its Elizabethtown plant
Mars Snackfood US officially unveiled the $70 million, 100,000-square-foot expansion of its Elizabethtown plant. Named the Dove Chocolate Center of Excellence, the expansion allows Mars to increase production of its Dove chocolate products, the fastest-growing premium brand in the U.S. with growth of 20 percent or more. The Elizabethtown plant employs about 300 workers, with 30 added for the Dove expansion. Mars makes its Dove chocolate at Elizabethtown and Chicago, with 70 percent of the products made at the Lancaster County plant. Milky Way and 3 Musketeers are also made there.
