Kraft Foods to sell Romanian confectionery business Sugus and Silvana
The US concern Kraft Foods has announced to sell its Sugus and Silvana confectionery businesses in Romania to the local company Kandia-Excelent SA. The buildings and land owned by the plant that produces boiled sweets, are not part of sale. The staff of the production facility located in Brasov will be transferred to Kraft Food s chocolate factory, located nearby.
Kraft Food s hard candy business was sold last year to chewing-gum company Wrigley, but Wrigley decided not to buy production facilities in Romania. Sugus and Silvana sales accounted for € 3.2 m.
