Archer Daniels acquires UK chocolate manufacturer

According to Reuters, Archer Daniels Midland Co. said it acquired Classic Couverture, a UK-based chocolate manufacturer, from Edward Billington and Son Ltd. The world s largest producer of the sweetener used in soft drinks and candy wants to expand its industrial chocolate manufacturing capabilities in Europe. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in the company s statement.
