Lion Capital LLP buys US premium crisp company Kettle Foods

The London-based buyout firm Lion Capital LLP has acuired US crsip and potato-chip manufacturer Kettle Foods. Terms of the transaction aren t being disclosed, Lion said. Kettle Foods, started in 1978, is one of the leading premium salty-snack producers in the U.S. and the U.K. The Oregon-based company, which also produces nuts and tortilla snacks, has plants in Oregon and Norwich, England. It is expected to generate sales of around €150 m this year. Lion Capital has acquired companies from U.K. cereal maker Weetabix to luxury-shoe maker Jimmy Choo.
