Hans Freitag: 60 years in business
Biscuit and wafer manufacturers Keks- und Waffelfabrik Hans Freitag celebrate 60 years in business this year. The company is famous for delicious yet cost effective products made using the most up to date equipment available. On August 12th 1946 young Hans Freitag founded a bakery and cake shop in Verden an der Aller.
Today production facilities fitted with state of the art equipment occupy 30,000 m² of a 50,000 m² site. 300 people are employed. Production capacity can reach up to 130 tonnes a day, and production runs in two shifts. The company is IFS certified (higher level)
Thanks to consistent investment in product quality and good cost effectiveness Hans Freitag has seen good growth over the years. By tradition the company never reveal absolute sales figures. Exports are reported to generate 30% of overall revenue; the most important markets abroad are Austria, Italy, Denmark and the USA.
