Masterfoods USA to cut two lines at Chicago-based plant

Masterfood USA plans to cut two lines at its 77-year-old Oak Park Avenue plant, including production of Easter egg- and pumpkin-shaped Snickers, and discontinued Pop’ables. The plant will continue to makes Snickers, Milky Way, 3 Musketeers, Dove, Munch and M-Azing bars. Production of some seasonal items will be moved elsewhere, according to Masterfood spokesperson Alice Nathanson. About 370 people will retain their jobs; about 70 positions will be eliminated. Affected employees will receive severance package information and job placement assistance, says Nathanson.
