Ludwig Schokolade:job cuts
Krüger subsidiary Ludwig Schokolade GmbH, Bergisch- Gladbach, is reported to be planning to cut 70 of 80 jobs at the Quickborn chocolate factory. According to a local radio station management has confirmed the plans. MD Guido Colsmann said the cuts were now inevitable due to economic reasons.Production is to be relocated to more cost-efficient facilities in Poland and Saarlouis. The company says the move is part of their programme to centralise production which has been running for eight years. Media reports say the factory will close down completely in the long term with the loss of the remaining ten jobs.
