Lindt new chocolate museum partner
The Cologne chocolate museum and Chocoladenfabriken Lindt & Sprüngli AG,Kilchberg, signed a production and marketing cooperation agreement on March 23rd 2006. Under the terms of the new agreement Lindt & Sprüngli will take over chocolate production in the museum. The German Lindt & Sprüngli facility in Aachen will provide technical support.The museum is to be known in future as the “Lindt Imhoff Chocolate Museum”.With 600,000 admissions a year, the museum is one of the most popular in Cologne. “Lindt, like no other brand, stands for tradition, craftsmanship and premium quality. Museum visitors will be able to enjoy absolutely outstanding chocolate,” said Imhoff. “We are delighted to be cooperating with this unique museum and look forward to communicating the fascination of chocolate to museum visitors,” said Ernst Tanner, Lindt & Sprüngli President and board member, at the ceremony. Dr Hans Imhoff,former owner and chairman of Stollwerck AG,commissioned the € 26 m museum on the banks of the Rhine in 1993. It is owned by the Imhoff Foundation. Stollwerck supported the museum right from the start. Following the purchase of Stollwerck by Barry Callebaut in 2002 the commitmentwas upheld. After production was relocated from Cologne to Norderstedt the cooperation agreement was terminated
