Vienna-based Walter Heindl takes over Pischinger

At the beginning of 2006 Walter Heindl Ges m b H,Vienna, took over Pischinger GmbH, also located in Vienna.The Pischinger company,which employs 40 people, is famous above all for wafer specialities, as well as for hazelnut and almond biscuits. Pischinger also run eight confectionery stores which do business under the names “United Chocolate” and “Pischinger”. In all Pischinger achieved sales of € 8 m, half of which was generated in their own stores. According to press reports Confiserie Heindl sales are expected to reach €20 m following the acquisition. After growth of 13% in 2005 Heindl is anticipating further double digit growth in 2006.
