In 2007, All Candy Expo will move to September
In response to requests from confectionery customers, the National Confectioners Association’s All Candy Expo will undergo changes in 2007. Not only will the Expo move from its traditional June time slot to September (Sept. 17 to 19, 20079 better accommodate confectionery buying calendars, but it also will feature a greater variety of sweet and savory snacks.
Starting with the 2007 All Candy Expo, exhibits may include manufacturers and marketers of chocolate candy, non-chocolate candy, gum, cookies/biscuits, sweet snacks (breakfast snacks, fruit snacks, etc.), nuts and other savory (salty) snack goods. “For many months, we consulted and discussed expansion and growth possibilities with our buying community,” said Michael Gilmore, Chairman of NCA’s All Candy Expo Committee and COO of Ferrero, USA. In the same surveys, customers indicated that while the June time slot was acceptable, more confectionery buying decisions and purchases are made between September and December. “Plan-o-grams are created in December or January, more products in which they are interested are introduced in the fall and September is the time of year when decisions for the next year are made,” said NCA President Larry Graham. To accommodate the growth in the show, the Expo also will move to West Hall in 2007 – one of the very first trade shows privileged to experience McCormick Place’s brand new facility.
