Grabower Süsswaren: double digit growth
The Grabower Süsswaren GmbH group has reported sales of € 128 m for 2004 – growth of 28 %, comparing to 2003. The group’s main facility in Grabow, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, accounts for 35 % of overall revenue. Grabower Süsswaren also operate subsidiary facilities such as the Wolf Süsswaren GmbH factories in Altenschönbach and Arnstadt in Thuringia,Ruhrkrone und Stüss & Co (also in Arnstadt) and Tomala in Kühren, Saxony. 120 different articles are manufactured on 32 production lines.The range includes mal lows, marshmallow wafers, biscuits and other wafers. In 2004 the range was extended to include crispbread after Grabower group acquired Kamps crispbread operations and the Lieken crispbread brand. The company, headed by Otto Lithardt, is to invest approximately € 15m this current year in increasing capacity and restructuring packaging and logistics.600 people are employed by the group on a full-time basis. Grabower plans to drive growth by stepping up distribution and export activities as well as presenting product innovations.
