Bouchard L’Escaut buy Daskalides
Belgian chocolate makers Bouchard L’Escaut have acquired brand rights, distribution and retail operations of Daskalides.Bouchard L’Escaut plan to restructure the Daskalides range,says owner Bernard Derom. Chocolates will not be affected, since that division was taken over separately within the framework of an Daskalides MBO.Bouchard L’Escaut reported sales in 2003 of €15m.Daskalides,founded in 1931 in Ghent, has been struggling since the 1990’s as a result of bold expansion in 150 countries, say press reports.
